Late in the evening on January 20th, our quality audit of our children’s products identified a potential quality issue with two lots of Shakleebaby Multivitamin & Multimineral Powder. We immediately did a thorough testing of each lot and identified that the iodine exceeded the labeling of the product. We immediately identified 4,294 purchasers and sent them a notification to stop using the product and discard it. We also automatically issued a refund to them.
At the same time we immediately consulted with leading medical experts who conducted a thorough review of the medical and scientific literature. Their conclusion is that there is no evidence that this level of iodine poses a serious health risk, and any adverse effects would be rare and temporary and would be reversed quickly after discontinuation of the product.
The lot numbers are Lot AR1E01 and Lot AR9K01. Lot numbers are located on the bottom left side panel of the label, right above the expiration date. If you have any product from these, we ask that you immediately stop using the product and discard it. You can also contact us via phone at (888) 252-4690 or via email at info@shaklee.com. We will respond to every inquiry. If you have any concerns about a child who has ingested this product, please contact your pediatrician.

If you have purchased a product from these lots, we deeply apologize for any concern and inconvenience that you may have and we commit to you and the rest of our Shaklee family that we are meticulously reviewing and enhancing our testing protocols to prevent this from ever happening again.
